Club Information

The Southern Flinders Dressage club is situated at the spacious Murray Town Oval in South Australia, just south of the beautiful Mount Remarkable.

The club was founded in 2011 to provide competitive and training opportunities for riders, using accredited judges and coaches. As a club, we strive to maintain a positive and professional environment, where riders are encouraged and supported as they advance through the levels of dressage. We welcome riders of all ages and abilities, and strongly promote the participation of Junior riders.

Southern Flinders Dressage Club is affiliated with the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV) and Equestrian Australia (EA). Affiliation with EA gives our club access to nationally qualified judges and coaches, and allows us to hold official competitions at which EA members can earn qualifications for State level dressage events. Affiliation with the HRCAV enables our club to host a variety of competitive and training events. The HRCAV also offers a very good Personal Accident Insurance that covers its members for all HRCAV-related activities.

Competitions

The Southern Flinders Dressage Club event calendar consists of 11 dressage competitions (both EA official & unofficial), 4 showjumping days, as well as 2 clinics per year. Each year, we hold host a dressage Winter Series, Showjumping Series and Club Championships. We also run a High Points award throughout the year.

Facilities

The oval has 2 sand arenas; Arena A on the west side (in front of the clubrooms) and Arena B on the east side.

A wash bay has been installed on the southern end for competitors to use. There are signed designated areas for manure and scrap hay.

14 yards are available for hire on the eastern side of the oval. Yards can be pre-booked with entries or paid for on the day. Bookings will not be taken unless they are accompanied by payment. The oval offers camping on powered and non-powered sites. Toilets and showers are available. Camping arrangements at the oval are to be made with and paid to the Murray Town Progress Association.
